Sick :(

Troy had the flu Sunday and Monday and I got it Tuesday night and am still feeling it. Hopefully Lucy doesn't get it too. And I just got word that my Uncle Gary is in the midst of heart valve replacement surgery as I write this, over at the U of M. He is on a kidney transplant list and has been on dialysis for a couple months now when they discovered he would need this too. So I'm hoping the surgery goes well and he heals quickly so he can be back on the road to recovery!

On a non-sick note, it's the new season of American Idol and our votes this year are for David Archuleta and Jason Castro. We got into watching this show last year when I was pregnant and even though the past few winners have stunk, there's hope this year!

Shoes?

I swear that's what her new word is "shoesh". I was putting them on her feet this morning and that's what she said.

I know some of you 3 blog readers are awaiting any Lovestrand news but I don't have anything of 100% certainty yet, so things could change, but with 99% certainty, Troy is going to take a different position with his company down in their new Rochester office doing full-time sales. He is very excited about this job change. We will know more "officially" next week. In anticipation of that, we're getting our house ready to go on the market. Not much to do but clean it and pack some things up to de-clutter the house. I expect it to go on the market in a week, once the whole job thing is official.

I'm not really worried about the move, moreso the sale of the house instead as the market is rotten right now. I am hoping to be granted full-time telecommuting at my job so we won't have to find daycare down there for the one day a week I have to go in. Everything will work out the way it's meant to work out.

Tomorrow is Paul's 61st birthday and in honor of that I've posted a couple pictures from his big party last year - one of the snowiest weekends we had! The second picture is the Kuhn car after doing some daredevil driving in the parking lot (with her mother!) she got stuck, HA! And the last one is me, very pregnant, and making "church meat" sandwiches, something I'd never had before but I did have a liking for that cheez whiz! Troy and I are taking Paul and Vicky to the Twin Cities Food & Wine Experience for his birthday present. We did this back when Troy and I were dating and it's a fabulous time!

Not sick

Instead, she has 4 teeth coming in. I haven't seen them or felt them but that's what the doctor said! Her nose started to clear up today as she's drinking tons now that she can breathe a little better. We went to Baby n Me this afternoon and it's hard to believe she's now the oldest/biggest and she started going there when she was 1 week old!

When I got home though, the phone was ringing and Troy calling to tell me his transmission is shot. We have so much going on in our lives right now and we need reliable transportation and can't afford to be purchasing another vehicle right now. So, we'll get it fixed and in the meantime he'll scrunch his knees up and drive my Saturn.

Tomorrow is Valentine's Day. Lucy and I made Valentine's Chex Mix to give to the grandmas and grandpas (and daddy, too). Tonight is church, I hope, or at least the meal at church. Last week when 7:00 service rolled around Lucy was ready to go to bed so we had to ditch halfway through, bummer.

Do I look sick?

Lucy has had a cold since last Thursday, all boogery and stuff. She's had a hard time sleeping and hasn't been drinking much either. Even though all baby cold medications are off the market she's going to the doctor tomorrow to make sure it's nothing more.

Today is her 10-month birthday and so we took the monthly pictures with the sheep.

What is she doing these days? Drooling, more teeth on the way, and lots of standing. Tonight she stood up one-handed and looked at me like kind of bewildered. We're guessing walking by 11 months, however for about 3 months we guessed she'd crawl and for about 5 months we thought she was teething.
This past weekend we were down in Lake Benton and Troy caught some of his cousins, Zach and Alex, basketball games. And it was COLD and WINDY out! Did I mention I'm ready for spring? The next couple of weeks are going to be busy for us. Troy will be going down to the Rochester office to check things out there, Friday Lucy will be going to Grandma Val's for the day while Troy and I go check out Rochester and the surrounding area, Friday night Troy has water hockey, Saturday Jess and I will head to Northfield to Nicole's shop (Jess hasn't been there yet) and Saturday night is game night! Next week we'll get taxes done, Wednesday I have a coffee date and my bible study group is serving the Lenten meal (taco bar), and on the 23rd Paul will be 61 and we're taking them to the Food and Wine Experience at the Mpls. Convention Center as we did a few years ago! If you've never been and you like to eat or you like to drink wine or do both, this is money well spent for a day of grazing and sipping!
Well, Troy is bowling tonight so I'm going to go have control of the remote while I can!

That's what it's all about!

I tried to teach Lucy the Hokey Pokey tonight (thus, the title here) but I think it's a little too much to comprehend at this time. At least it's some exercise for us when we can't be outside!

Today is my friend Jessica's 35th birthday. Lucy just had her bath and we're going to head over to their house to bring by her gift and see the kids. Jessica and I met our sophomore year in high school (that's 1988 for those who can't believe I'm that old!) and our lockers were next to each other. We had a lot of fun(ny) times in high school, cruising around in her parents' big brown Buick ("the beast"). And we were also college roommates our freshman year at UWRF (sometimes just because you're best friends doesn't mean you should always live together!). Both of us majored in Criminal Justice (you know I ain't doing anything with that degree!) and Jess got her masters in it and is now a probation officer for an undisclosed county (I can't give away TOO much personal info!) while I am in the technology industry longing to be a stay-at-home mom! So we're going over to visit now and wish her a happy birthday.
This weekend we're heading down to Lake Benton, MN to visit Troy's extended family and see his cousins play basketball. I picked up Lucy's 8 month (she'll be 10 on Monday) photos and am hoping to make some Valentines with the wallets and get those in the mail next week. I've also almost got all those baby bibs sewn to put in Nicole's shop. My next endeavor is making soy jar candles! They sound fairly easy to make, I've bought all the supplies and various scents I think people will enjoy and we shall see! The intent is to sell them in her shop and use them in our own house and give as gifts. And since I always have about 10 crafts in the back of my mind I want to do, I have a baby blanket idea to try out and lots of scrapbooking to do!
